Ranpur: Police foiled a loot bid and arrested six persons from a cashew farm at Chandpur area in Nayagarh district Tuesday night for their alleged involvement in a robbery attempt.
The accused persons had hatched a plan to loot a jewellery shop at Chandpur, police said.
The accused have been identified as Sandip Mohanty of Mayurbhanj’s Thakurmunda village, Rohit Mohanty of Badambadi in Cuttack, Balaram Behera and Swati Suman Behera of Similipatna in Khurda district, Sunil Kumar Behera and Manas Mallick of Chandpur.
Police have also seized a Mahindra Scorpio and several lethal weapons from their possession.
