Puri: A special ritual was conducted at Puri Srimandir on occasion of ‘Khalilagi Ekadashi’ Wednesday.

According to established tradition, ‘Khali’ paste prepared by ‘Suddha Suaras’ (special servitors) was applied on the idols on this occasion. Besides, the deities were also offered basil leaves (tulsi) amid ringing of bells and cymbals.

It is to be noted that the construction work of the three chariots is in the last phase. Tuesday, the ‘Kalashas’ were fixed atop the chariots and work on the ‘singhasanas’ — the seats of the Lords — also began.

Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra were served with ‘Dashamula’ medication Tuesday at the Srimandir after which it is believed the Lords will get back to good health.
