Karisma Kapoor:
Abhishek Bachchan was crazily in love with Karisma Kapoor. After appearing together in Hain Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya Hai, the couple was much in love. Marriage was in the cards. In the year 2002, they even got engaged. But due to reasons better known to them, duo parted ways in 2003.
Rani Mukherjee:
Later, Abhishek went on date Rani Mukherji and worked in films like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Bunty Aur Babli and Yuva. Many also believed that their bonding will be something like that of Amitabh-Jaya Bhaduri, since Rani was also a Bengali. But that too fell apart.
Dipannita Sharma: Later, he allegedly started dating Dipannita Sharma for almost 10 months, but even this too didn’t work out.
Jhanvi Kapoor: A girl named Jhanvi Kapoor attempted suicide by slitting her wrist claiming Abhishek cheated her, but it was termed as a publicity stunt later.
Aishwarya Rai: Abhishek met Aishwarya first for the time on the sets of Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya in 1997, when he had gone to meet his friend Bobby Deol who was the lead actor in the film. Abhi and Aish then went on to work in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Naa Kaho in 2000, but the sparks didn’t trigger between them.
But, cupid struck between them while they were working in Umrao Jaan, Dhoom 2 and Guru. Many say that cupid struck between them during Kajra Re song in Bunty Aur Babli and it was during Mani Ratnam’s Guru both developed feelings for one another. During the promotions of Guru, Abhishek proposed Aish, who readily accepted it.
The two then got engaged January 14, 2007 and the same year got married April 20. Their marriage was a Bollywood sensation and made headlines. Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their bundle of joy Aaradhya Bachchan November 16, 2011.
