Love momos? Reasons why it can be dangerous for you

Momos, the round soft dough balls that are filled with juicy stuffings are delight of all street food lovers. But they are dangerous for health and cause ailments with long term impact on health.

Here are 8 reasons why you should not eat momos:

  1. Made of chemical laced dough: Momos are made with refined flour, treated with chemicals and other bleaches. These chemicals can damage the pancreas and cause diabetes.
  2. Meat of dead animals: Researches have found that the fillings inside the momos, in cheap road side shops are made of already dead chicken that is bought at a very cheap rate.
  3. Have MSG: Momos are most likely to contain mono-sodium glutamate (MSG) which not only leads to obesity but also causes a string of other health issues like nervous disorder, sweating, chest pain nausea and palpitations.
  4. Source of dangerous tapeworm: Momos are stuffed with cabbage which if not cooked properly can have spores of tapeworm which can reach the brain and lodge there and grow eventually, causing life-threatening condition.
  5. Momos may have dog meat: The news of many vendors stuffing dog meat inside the momos has been doing rounds from quite sometimes. So, it is a good idea to have momos only from clean and hygenic shops where you are sure of the quality.
