Mumbai: Legendary Hindi film actor Madhuri Dixit will celebrate her 52nd birthday, May 15. From the late 1980s to the early years of 2000, Madhuri established herself as one of the highest paid actresses in the film fraternity. But do you know that initially Madhuri’s parents did not want her to join the film industry. They wanted to marry her off. They chose emerging playback singer then, Suresh Wadkar as the groom. However, Wadkar turned down the proposal stating that the girl ‘was too thin’.

Madhuri’s parents were heartbroken, but she was happy as it opened doors for her to act in films.
