Mumbai: Bold, courageous and confident Mahie Gill, the Saheb Biwi aur Gangster actress wants to romance the Dabanng Khan Salman Khan.
Actress Mahie Gill, who left a mark with her debut as an unconventional heroine in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D, believes that her decision of taking up supporting roles in commercial potboilers like Dabangg was a wrong move. Post Dev D, Mahie featured in Gulaal, followed by Dabangg.
The Salman Khan starrer film was directed by Anurag’s brother Abhinav. Mahie who in the film, essayed the role of Arbaaz Khan’s love interest, said that being a part of the commercial film did not work for her.
“After Dev D, I had won a lot of appreciation and awards. People wanted to sign me for films. But I did Dabangg and it backfired big time. The producers started to offer me small roles. I felt very bad but I did not know what was happening. I believe in destiny a lot, I think this was meant to happen. I did regret doing the role, but now I do not,” the actress told.
The actor shares that there have been instances when people tried to make indecent advances to her in return for work. “It happened with me a few times. I don’t even remember the name of the directors. I had to meet a director, so I wore a salwar suit and went, and he told me, ‘If you wear a suit and come, nobody is going to cast you in a film.’ Then, I met another director and he tells me, ‘I want to see how you look in a nightie’. So, you see, there are idiots all around.”
