Malkangiri: The road link between Malkangiri and Chhattisgarh remained cut-off Friday although intensity of rainfall that threw life out of gear in the district for the past two days has reduced.
However, the road link with other block headquarters in the district has been restored as the flood water flowing on various bridges across the rivers has receded significantly.
However, the road link between Sukma district of Chhattisgarh and Malkangiri remained cut-off as the flood water was still running over the bridge on river Saberi.
A total of 36.02 mm of rainfall was recorded in the district Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Collector Manish Agrawal has directed the officials to file a loss assessment report at the earliest as several hectares of farmland were submerged and many animals have been swept away in the flash floods.
The officials have been instructed to provide polythene sheets and cooked food to the families whose houses have been damaged.
The block and district level officials are visiting several areas to assess the loss caused by the rains.
