Malkangiri: The Malkangiri district administration has assured to extend a helping hand for higher studies of Karma Muduli, who had emerged as the district topper in Plus-II Commerce examinations last year and was working as a labourer.
A team led by District Welfare Officer approached the tribal girl and gave her assistance assurance for future studies. Additionally, the team prepared and submitted a report to the district Collector’s office in this regard, said a source.
Karma will be given financial assistance that will come from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), added the source.
Notably, Karma had topped Malkangiri in Plus-II Commerce with 82.66 per cent. Currently, she is studying at Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar. Her parents work as daily labourers and are unable to afford her education. As a result, she started to work as a labourer to fund her education.
Studious Karma aims to become a civil servant in the future.
