Bhawanipatna: The remand period of Gobinda Sahu, prime accused in Mamita Meher murder case, came to an end Sunday.
Sahu will be produced in the court and it is to be seen whether he will be sent to jail or the police will apply to take him on remand once again.
On the last day of the remand period, the police are said to have subjected Sahu to a marathon interrogation. They are, however, yet to reveal as to what information they extricated from him.

According to a source, Gobinda’s medical test was done Saturday night. For this, he was taken to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital straight from Bolangir SP’s office, amidst tight security.
It is now being discussed that the biggest challenge before the police is whether to believe the story narrated by Sahu hook, line and sinker or continue their investigation to find out the involvement of others.
Notably, Sahu was arrested from a sugarcane field at Budhipadar village under Bangomunda block October 19. During interrogation, he confessed to have killed Mamita Meher, a resident of Jharni village under Turekela block in Bolangir district. Mamita worked as a teacher at Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling area of Kalahandi district. She went missing October 8 and was found dead subsequently.
