Bolangir: A man allegedly died by suicide after his wife passed away at Dabari village under Kantabanji police limits in Odisha’s Bolangir district, a source said Monday.
The deceased husband has been identified as Godhama Mallick (45).
According to the source, Godhama’s wife Chandrakala was suffering from a kidney-related ailment. Chandrakala breathed her last breath Sunday after a prolonged battle with the illness. Hours after her death, her husband Godhama allegedly hanged himself from a tree on his farmland.
The locals spotted the body Monday morning and informed Kantabanji police.
Police reached the spot and recovered the body.
An investigation in this regard is underway.
It can be mentioned here that last year in Dhenkanal district a newly-married woman allegedly committed suicide hours after her husband died in a road accident.
