Keonjhar: A man who was to wear groom’s attire in the evening died due to electrocution at Kendua village under sadar police limits in this district Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Lokanath Mahanta.
Family sources said, preparations were in final stages for Lokanath’s marriage. He was to go out for his wedding in the evening. However, he suffered an electric shock when he attempted to switch off a light.
Family members rescued him in a critical condition and rushed him to district headquarters hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A pall of gloom descended on the village after the news of the incident broke.
