Berhampur: The body of a man, who was missing for the past two days, was recovered from a well near Bidyutpur colony under Baidyanathpur Police limits in Ganjam district Sunday.
The body, with several injury marks, including a chopped neck, was spotted floating inside the well after locals became suspicious of the foul smell that was emanating out of it.
The deceased has been identified as Ambika Prasad Padhi, a resident of Bidyutpur colony.
According to police officials, the victim had gone missing since September 27, Friday. However, some locals Sunday morning spotted the body inside the well.
On being informed, police reached the spot and retrieved the body. Police have also initiated an investigation into the case after a case of unnatural death was registered.
