Bhawanipatna: A local court Saturday awarded a 10-year rigorous imprisonment to a man after convicting him of raping a four-year-old girl under Kesinga police limits area in Kalahandi district.
Additional district and sessions judge Rashmita Dalei awarded the jail-term to Md Mansur Khan under sections 457, 376 (2)(F) of POCSO Act. The court imposed a 1500 penalty on Khan. He would undergo an additional jail-term if he defaults on the fine, the court ruled.
According to the case diary, the incident occurred in 2013. In the absence of the victim’s family members, Khan, who resided in Kesinga and did petty jobs, barged into the house of the victim and committed the heinous crime. The case was handled by government lawyer Susant Kumar Sahu.
