Keonjhar: Fast Track Court Judge Vijay Kumar Mishra Monday sentenced Sambari Juang (30) of Dhanurjaipur village under Telkoi police station to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for raping a 15-year-old differently abled girl.
The court further ordered another six months RI to the convict in case of non-payment of the fine amount.
According to sources, Sambari raped the disabled minor girl when she was alone in her house May 12, 2023. When the victim’s father reached the spot, Sambari ran away. Later the victim narrated her ordeal to her father, who then filed a written complaint at Telkoi police station the next morning.

Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused under Section 6 of POCSO Act and forwarded him to court.
