Bhawanipatna: A man hacked his brother-in-law to death at Dalabahali village near Mohangiri under M Rampur block in Kalahandi district Friday evening.
While the deceased was identified as Sukal Patra, the accused has been identified as Abhi Bhoi.
According to reports, both Sukal and Abhi were involved in a feud for a long time. Abhi had gone to Sukal’s house for some work Friday after Nuakhai celebrations.
Sukal, who was in an inebriated condition, verbally abused Abhi and threatened to kill his family members.
Fumed over Sukal’s mistreatment, Abhi picked up an axe and hacked Sukal to death. Even though the victim’s family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The police arrested the accused and his two sons Saturday morning.
The police have seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
