Keonjhar: A man was arrested by police Wednesday for allegedly raping a minor tribal girl and issuing her death threat at Barbil in Keonjhar district.
The accused has been identified as Gada Singh.
According to reports, Gada lured the 12-year-old girl with chocolates and took her to a secluded place at a nearby forest at 10 pm November 1.
Later, he outraged her modesty and threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
However, the girl gathered courage and narrated her ordeal before family members following which they lodged a police complaint.
The accused has been booked under Sections 376, 506 of the IPC and 6 (A) of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
The police have sent the victim and Gada for medical examination and started an investigation.
