G. Udaygiri: A man was killed and four others critically injured after a truck rammed into the guard wall of the Kalinga Ghati road Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Raghu Manj of Guruwa district in Bihar. The injured were rushed to G. Udaygiri community health center (CHC). Later, the two were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
Sources said, the ill-fated truck carrying 11 persons was coming from Patna in Bihar to Bhanjanagar carrying cables and other equipments of a private telecom company. The vehicle rammed into guard wall after the driver lost his control, killing Raghu, who was sitting in driver’s cabin, on the spot.
On being informed, G. Udaygiri police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and started rescue operation.
