Bargaon (Sundargarh): In a shocking incident, a man killed his wife over a domestic feud and later buried her body in a dense forest to erase evidence.
The heinous incident has been reported from Tikilipada village under Bargaon police limits in Sundargarh district. The deceased has been identified as Sharmila Tappo, wife of the accused Kapil Tappo.
According to reports, the incident occurred a few days ago and came to the fore today only after cops received a tip-off about the woman’s death. They held her husband Kapil Toppo who confessed during interrogation that he had beaten his wife to death after a quarrel.
According to police, Kapil had an argument with his wife over some petty issue. The situation took an ugly turn after Kapil in a fit of rage attacked her with an wooden plan, resulting her death on the spot.
He further said that he hid Sharmila’s body in the bathroom for one day and on getting the opportunity, he put the body in a sack and buried it in the forest nearby.
While the body has been recovered for post-mortem, the cops have arrested Kapil in connection with the crime. Further probe into the matter is currently underway.
