Man stoned to death over land dispute

Baripada: A man was allegedly bludgeoned to death over a land dispute at Patasahi village under Sadar police limits in Mayurbhanj district late Monday night. The miscreants later dumped the body in an isolated field.

The deceased has been identified as Jagannath Khanduala of Badasola Sahi in the village.

The incident came to the fore after locals spotted the body and alerted the cops.

Meanwhile, the police detained four persons in connection with the incident for interrogation. Preliminary probe revealed it was a pre-planned murder.

Later, the accused attacked Jagannath and hit with a huge stone, leading to his death on the spot.

“After receiving the information, police reached the spot this morning and began an investigation. We also have detained four persons- Bhima Singh,Garida Singh, Bira Singh and Rama Singh- today and are interrogating them,” Sadar IIC said.
