Sambalpur: Separate teams of Odisha Vigilance sleuths carried out simultaneous raids Friday morning on five properties associated with Managing Director of Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (LAMPS) at Jamankira under Kuchinda subdivision of Sambalpur.
The LAMPS MD has been identified as Phanindra Sahu.
Vigilance raids were conducted as Sahu allegedly amassed assets disproportionate to his legal sources of income, an official said.

Locations where searches begun early in the morning include a rented house in Putibandha locality of Sambalpur town, Sahu’s office room at Jamankira, his ancestral house at Bargaon village of Dhanakauda and two more places in Sambalpur district.
“Simultaneous searches are being carried out at five locations on the strength of a warrant issued by Vigilance Special Judge in Sambalpur, which are still underway,” a senior official stated.
As the raids are underway, value of Sahu’s movable and immovable properties have not been ascertained. Several important documents were seized from Sahu’s residence, the official informed.
