Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader Manas Ranjan Mangaraj has assumed charge as the Media and Public Relations Advisor to state government Wednesday morning.
After taking charge, he forwarded his joining letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Information and Public Relations department office. On behalf of the department, I&PR director Krupasindhu Mishra, additional director Niranjan Sethi, Utkala Prasanga (Odisha Review) editor Lenin Mohanty, joint director Bipin Bihari Barik and other officials welcomed Mangaraj. Earlier, the state government had accorded Minister of State status to Mangaraj.
While interacting with the officers of the department, Mangaraj sought cooperation for proper implementation of 5T mantra of the Chief Minister in the department. He will take steps for implementation of 5Ts in coordination with media houses, media representatives and administrative departments concerned.
Mangaraj is the general secretary (media affairs) of ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD). He had started his career as a journalist and has proved his mettle during the recent general and Assembly polls. He had joined the BJD last year after resigning from Congress where he had served the youth wing.
