Bhubaneswar: The Coronavirus and the lockdown afterwards has impacted people in large way that includes daily wagers, migrant labourers, homeless and others who for many days suffered due to strict lockdown.
For their welfare and to raise funds for them 25 year old Philem Rohan Singh from Manipur had started a campaign titled ‘Cycling for Humanity’ under which the cyclist activist is spreading awareness on humanity and environment and trying to raise funds for hungry and homeless to feed.
Through this cycle expedition he aims to raise funds for those who have been distressed and have lost their livelihood due to Covid 19 pandemic.
The MA in English student Singh started cycling since 2018 and had done many cycling trips for many different themes and issues. This is his eight expedition for the cycling for humanity campaign and in the present expedition which started in February 2021, he is travelling to 10 States for raising funds for Covid 19 affected people. He reached Bhubaneswar Monday.
He has raised approximately Rs 30,000 so far through this campaign and has covered Odisha and West Bengal and will travel Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Through his expeditions he has travelled the whole country till now.
“I don’t know about your perspective but for me feeding a hungry stomach and making an unhappy soul happy is the best thing I have ever enjoyed in my lifelife, ” said Singh.
