Keonjhar: Railway Police recovered Tuesday the mutilated body of a man from railway tracks near Dhatika village under Keonjhar police limits in Keonjhar district. The deceased Tulasi Majhi was a resident of Dhatika village and was popular in the locality as a football player.
Police sources, however, are suspecting foul play behind Tulasi’s death as his body has injury marks which are not usually found when a person is run over by a train. They said Tulasi had serious injuries on his head and neck and those were not caused by a train. The police have launched a probe suspecting murder. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
It should be stated that head phones, cigarette butts, an empty bottle of liquor and a pair of slippers were found close to the spot where Tulasi’s body was discovered. This has led the police to believe that there were presence of a few more people at the area where Tulasi’s body was found and that they may have a hand in his death.
An unnatural case of death has been registered, but police are probing all angles including murder. Residents of Dhatika village are also being questions. Police are also trying to find out if Tulasi had any past enmity.
