Maoist camp busted in Bargarh district

Paikamal: In a combing operation conducted by the personnel of Odisha State Armed Police, a Maoist camp was busted in the foothills of Gandhamardan hills under the Paikamal block in Bargarh district, Saturday night.

Acting on a tip-off, the police personnel carried out the combing operation in the jungle and spotted the camp. They did not face any opposition while marching towards the camp as it was deserted, a source in the police said.

That said, the forces seized walkie-talkies, digital cameras, infrared wildlife cameras, several documents, Maoist camouflage uniforms and some daily need articles from the camp.

While the Red Rebels fled the spot, police have intensified combing operation in border areas.

Later senior police officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Police personnel are searching for the other Maoist camps in the jungle areas of Bargarh.
