Nuapada: A Maoist camp was busted Saturday following an exchange of fire between a joint team of security forces and red rebels at Patdhara reserve forest under Boden block in Nuapada district.
The combing operation was carried out jointly by the personnel from the Special Operations Group (SOG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and District Voluntary Force (DVF). Huge cache of ammunitions was seized following the exchange of fire.
The joint team got information from a reliable source about the presence of a faction of ultras in the reserve forest. Swinging into action, the security personnel launched the operation, the source added.

During the operation, the ultras opened fire at security personnel and in retaliation the team exchanged fire. However, the Maoists managed to flee from the spot. The security forces have seized tiffin bombs and several other explosives from the camp.
“Combing operation was intensified after the huge seizure and is still underway in the area,” Nuapada SP Pratyush Diwakar informed.
