Maoist posters trigger panic in Muniguda

Muniguda: Panic gripped residents of Muniguda police limits in Rayagada district Wednesday after Maoist posters were spotted at Ramanakupuli square.

The posters urge the people to confront the ‘fascist actions’ of the government and calls for a Chhattisgarh-Odisha bandh October 25 in protest.

The red rebels have also asked the government to withdraw CRPF troops from Trilochanpur panchayat, and stop encounter killings of Maoist rebels apart from desisting from midnight arrests in Lanjigarh.

In an unusual message, the Maoists have asked the government to stop the ‘suppression of people in Kashmir’.

On being informed, local police reached the spot and seized the posters and banners. Though the Maoists poster has been pasted for the first time in the area, fear gripped the residents.

Maoists have pasted these posters and banners to highlight their presence in the area, locals said.
