Malkangiri: Now even the Maoist is not far behind in protesting against Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious Polavaram project.
Maoist posters protesting Polavaram project have put up at different places at Chitrakonda block in Malkangiri district Friday.
The posters were put up by the Malkangiri-Koraput-Visakhapatnam Border (MKVB) division. The police was informed about the posters when some locals noticed them pasted at different places of Chitrokonda block.
A number of posters were found pasted on roadside walls in Gunthabeda, Kurmanur and Dorabeda villages opposing the Polavaram project claiming it as anti-people. The red rebels wanted immediate withdrawal of the project for the benefit of locals.
Similarly, through their posters the Maoists also warned the Grama Rakshis (village guards) working under various police stations in the district to quit their jobs immediately to avoid action in the hands of the members of the Left Wing Extremists.
Additional Director General of Police, Operation R P Koche said such incidents has come to his notice and the local police are combing the area.
