Malkangiri: Just a few days after a woman Maoist Meena was gunned down and four Maoists, including three women and a minor, were arrested, a Maoist leader has released an audio tape threatening revenge.
An encounter of ultras with security forces took place in Swabhiman (erstwhile cut-off) area of Malkangiri district last week.
The Maoist, in an audio tape released Monday, can be heard saying that it was a fake encounter and warned of revenge. The tape has reportedly been released by CPI (Maoist) Malkangiri-Koraput-Visakhapatnam border division secretary Kailasam.
He has alleged that the security forces caught hold of Meena October 10 in the Swabhiman area while she was resting due to ill health.
He further claimed that the security forces tortured her physically and mentally for two days and after killing her October 12 spread the false message that Meena died in an encounter.
Andhra police in coordination with Odisha police has committed such a gruesome act to take revenge of the September 23 killings of TDP MLA from Araku, Kidari Sarveswara Rao, and former MLA Siveri Soma in Andhra Pradesh, added Kailasam.
While the government after construction of the Gurupriya Bridge termed the region as Swabhiman area, the innocent people living there have complained of being harassed by security forces in the name of Maoists, he further alleged in the audio tape.
