Kandhamal: Several Maoist posters appeared at some places of Kandhamal district Monday, supporting the farmers who are agitating under the banner of Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS) and asking them to intensify the stir.
Villagers of Kukurumuha and Khajurigaon under Phiringia tehsil spotted the posters in the morning.
The Maoists have demanded the release of farmers who were arrested during an agitation last week in Bhubaneswar pressing for the fulfillment of three ‘P’s -‘price’, ‘prestige’ and ‘pension’.
Extending support to the farmers, the ultras have asked the agitating peasants to intensify their strike.
Besides, they have demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for those farmers who committed suicide.
