Maoists bomb forest beat house, set excavator on fire in Odisha’s Nuapada district

Nuapada: A forest beat house at Golabandha under Kermeli panchayat in Odisaha’s Nuapada district was bombed late Thursday night by a group of Maoists.

Nuapada District Superintendent of Police GR Raghavendra said as per the information received so far, around 10 to 12 Maoists arrived in the village late Thursday night and bombed the beat house. The doors and some portions of the beat house were damaged in the incident.

The Maoists have also set fire to an excavator parked near the beat house. The excavator was partially burnt. The ‘Red Rebels’ also put up anti-government hand-written posters on the spot.

A source said that the Maoists belonged to the Nuapada-Manipur division of the banned organisation.
