Maoists ransack distillery, torch vehicles in Koraput

Koraput/Jeypore:  Maoists ransacked the Bihari distillery located at Dumuriguda village under Pottangi police limits of Koraput district Friday night. The rebels also set a commander jeep, two motorcycles and a generator set on fire.

Before leaving the spot, they fixed a banner near the main gate that warns to chop the heads off people responsible, if the distillery is not closed down permanently.

According to a source, the distillery workers were asleep when the ultras arrived and locked the door from outside. They then proceeded to set the vehicles afire and left the place soon after.

Later, some of the villagers gathered their courage and rescued the men locked inside.

The incident has sent a shockwave in the village.
