Malkangiri: Maoists set on fire two vehicles at Nayapara locality in Chhattisgarh close to the border with Malkangiri district Monday. Sources said that both vehicles were engaged in the transportation of iron ore from the Amdai mines in Chhattisgarh. Both these vehicles were carrying iron ores when the Maoists waylaid those and set them on fire.
Luckily, however, the trucks did not suffer much damage as locals doused the fire quickly. The Maoists have been opposing mining in this area for a long time. Sources said that the Maoists torched the vehicles to put an end to mining activities.
