Lucknow: West Indies opener Kyle Mayers had a brilliant IPL debut as his 73 off 38 balls propelled Lucknow Super Giants to a solid 193 for six against Delhi Capitals in an IPL match, here Saturday.
Mayers, who is playing in place of Quinton de Kock, who is currently on national duty, smashed seven sixes apart from a couple of boundaries while adding 79 runs with Deepak Hooda (17).
Nicholas Pooran, a Rs 16 crore recruit, scored a quickfire 36 off 21 balls as Axar Patel (1/38) and Kuldeep Yadav (1/35) got some turn off the surface. Khaleel Ahmed was the most successful bowler with figures of 2 for 30.
