Bolangir: A three-member team of Medical Council of India (MCI) visited the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital here and reviewed the infrastructural facilities in the institution, a report said Thursday.
The team comprising Prof Bijay Bhattacharya from Kolkata, Prof Dewan from Manipur and Prof Sunil Nagar from Delhi visited the medical college and hospital Tuesday and Wednesday and expressed satisfaction on the infrastructural facilities available in the medical college and hospital.
The team members are learnt to have assured the college authorities that they will recommend the MCI to grant affiliation to the college for admission in next educational session.
The team members expressing satisfaction has brightened the chances of the college getting affiliation for the third year in a row. Currently, 100 students are studying each in first and second years in the college which is just two years old since its establishment.
The team visited the medical college at Gandharel and later the hospital and reviewed the infrastructural facilities like availability of adequate study materials in the college and other facilities in various departments. Later, they visited the hospital and verified the availability of proper healthcare services to visiting patients.
Dean Dr Lalit Kumar Meher, superintendent Dr Mahendra Nayak, all departmental heads students and staff were present during the visit of the MCI team.
