Mega blood donation camp held in Capital

BHUBANESWAR: Thousands of people in the state die in road accidents due to blood loss each year. Keeping this in mind, a mega Blood Donation camp was organised by Indian Dental Association (lDA), Kanika Branch, Odisha in association with Hi-Tech Hospital here Thursday.

The camp was inaugurated by Sushant Mohapatra, lAS, Director (SSEPD) Dept in presence of other dignitaries of Hi-Tech group. Donations were done in large number by doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and students of Hi-Tech Group and other people from Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.

Sandeep Samal, President, IDA Kanika Branch encouraged the donors and said that a drop of blood is very important at the time of need. Thousands are dying in road accidents due to unavailability of blood or blood donors. That’s why every single responsible citizen should come ahead and donate blood to save lives voluntarily.”

“With each passing year, IDA, Kanika branch is performing its duty as a leading blood donation camp and it continues to grow. The collected blood will be eventually used for patients of road accident in the highways, said Abhitosh Debata, Hon’ble Secretary of the lDA, Kanika Branch.

Amongst others Subash Nayak, Sambarth Das, Ankit Mohapatro, Ronak Chowdhary, Artabandhu Tripathy, Naina Patnaik, Abhishek Das and other office bearers were present on the occasion.
