Mercury levels in Bhubaneswar to soar in coming days

Bhubaneswar: After emerging as the hottest city in the country Thursday, Bhubaneswar is going to be hotter in the coming days.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum day and night temperatures in Bhubaneswar during this time around should be between 32 and 33 degree Celsius and between 20 and 21 degree Celsius respectively. But while the day temperature has been up by 6.5 degree Celsius, the night temperature has seen a drop of 4 degree Celsius.

This unprecedented phenomenon of winter having faded away in February and the differences in temperatures have surprised the weathermen.

According to the meteorological center here, such weather condition will continue till the first week of March and the temperature is very likely to exceed 40 degree Celsius.

Notably, the capital city recorded 39.4 degree Celsius Thursday.
