Mercury rises at Daringbadi, tourists’ enjoyment plummets

Daringbadi:  Daringbadi block in Kandhamal district, known as Odisha’s Kashmir Thursday witnessed a soaring mercury from 5.5 degrees to 10 degrees Celsius. The tourists that thronged here were left without shivers and hence disheartened.

According to the block administration’s records, Tuesday the temperature was recorded at 6 degree C and till Wednesday 8 am, it was hovering at 5.5 degree C. Thursday it increased to 10 degree C.

As of now, every day hundreds of tourists from within and outside the district as well as from outside the state are thronging at this block to experience the cold. An increase in the temperature Thursday virtually spoiled the very purpose of their trip to this block.

The tourists have expressed their unhappiness as Daringbadi is yet to see snow fall unlike last year when the temperature at this time was 3 degree C.
