Bhubaneswar, June 2: Several districts of Odisha will experience the first pre-monsoon showers in the next 24 hours while some other districts will witness rain triggered by Nor’wester, Met department here said Saturday said.
The temperature in several parts will show a downward trend under the impact of rain. The met department has also sounded thunderstorm for Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Bhadrak districts today.
Meanwhile, rain lashed several parts of Odisha Friday with Balasore recording as much as 42 mm followed by 27 mm in Talcher.
Met sources said the thundersquall accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind with speed reaching 50-60 kmph were likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jagatsingpur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara during the next 24 hrs.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore during the next 24 hours. Rainfall has occurred at a few places over Odisha with very heavy rainfall at one or two places over north interior Odisha.
