Bhubaneswar: Since the time US President Donald Trump mispronounced Sachin Tendulkar’s name as (Soochin) during the ‘Namaste Trump’ event at Motera in Ahmedabad, the net has gone viral with hilarious reactions. Tendulkar’s fans have also trolled Trump for failing to pronounce the Indian cricket legend’s name correctly.
Cricketers both former and present have reacted hilariously to the way Trump pronounced Sachin as ‘Soochin’. The latest to join the bandwagon is former England captain Michael Vaughan.
In a tweet, Vaughan has wondered how Trump would pronounce Pakistani opener Fakhar Zaman’s name (implications obvious) if he ever visits the country.
“Can’t wait for @realDonaldTrump to visit Pakistan & see how he pronounces Fakhar Zaman ..!!!” Vaughan tweeted Wednesday. Earlier in the day he had tweeted ‘How are you today Sue Chin @sachin_rt !!!! #DonaldTrumpIndiaVisit’.

Speaking at the ‘Namaste Trump’ event, the US President had said: “This is the country, where your people cheer on some of the world’s greatest cricket players from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli.” However, as mentioned above he failed to mention Tendulkar’s name correctly. However, it was overshadowed by the way Trump went haywire as he tried to mention the name of Swami Vivekananda. God only knows what he said!
Even the International Cricket Council (ICC) trolled the US president. On its official Twitter handle, the ICC posted a video ‘changing” Sachin’s name to ‘Soochin Tendulkar’ on their website, captioning the tongue-in-cheek post “Sach- Such- Satch- Sutch- Sooch- Anyone know?”
In the 15-second video clip, the ICC is seen changing Tendulkar’s name in the personal information section to Soo-chin and then saving the changes.
However, even Vaughan’s hilarious statement did not satisfy Tendulkar fans. They hauled him up for failing to write Tendulkar’s name correctly and asked whether they should pronounce his name as Wuhan (the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak).
