Minister Pratap Jena falls ill, likely to be airlifted from Kandhamal to Bhubaneswar

Phulbani: Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena is said to have fallen ill. He is presently in Kandhamal district. A source said that he will be airlifted to Bhubaneswar at the earliest for treatment.

According to the source, Jena had gone to Kandhamal district on a four-day visit. He complained of feeling unwell during the tour. He had a running temperature, breathing difficulties and low blood pressure following which the visit was cancelled.

A team of doctors from Phulbani district headquarters hospital was immediately called in and they are treating the minister at the Circuit House.

The source said, the minister will be airlifted to Bhubaneswar at the earliest.

Notably, the minister had suffered a heart attack September 10 night and was admitted to a private hospital. The doctors there detected two blockages in his heart. Subsequently, a surgery was carried out and two stents were implanted.
