Soro: It seems that there is no let up in crime against minor girls in Odisha.
After three minor girl death cases – two reported from Nayagarh and one from Balasore – another case of a minor girl being raped on the pretext of marriage came to the fore from Soro in Balasore district Thursday.
The girl has lodged a complaint at Soro police station accusing the man of keeping physical relations with her promising marriage.
The victim, a resident of Mahanga area in Cuttack district, was staying at a village in Soro. She was working as an accountant at a private farm.
During her stay, she made acquaintance with the man on an occasion and a friendship developed between them. Later, they fell in love.
Promising marriage, he had established a physical relationship with her. Some days later, when the victim asked him about their marriage, he parried the question and started avoiding her.
Realising that she had been cheated, the victim lodged a report against the man.
Registering a case, the police have launched a probe.
