Gop: A minor boy drowned in a pond at Oruali village under Gop police limits in Puri district Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as fourteen-year-old Bunty Behera(14). He was a student of Class-VIII.
According to locals, Bunty had been to the pond to take a bath before going to school. He, however, lost his balance and accidentally slipped into the deep water and drowned.
When the boy did not return, his family members searched for him and found his body floating in the water. The family member along with other villagers recovered the body.
Though they immediately rushed the boy to Gop hospital, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Local police reached the spot on being informed, registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for autopsy.
