Minor, students were part of this group of thieves

Daringbadi, Dec 17: Local police Wednesday arrested a gang of six thieves including a minor and two college students here in Kandhamal district and seized electronic goods worth over lakhs of rupees from their possession. The accused were produced in a court.
They were identified as Hiru Pradhan, Jirimaya Pradhan, Milan Pradhan, Nianuel Pradhan, Nayan Pradhan and a minor.
They all belong to Sangudumaha, Mandubadi and Kilabadi areas under the local police limits, inspector-in-charge (IIC) Yashowant Kumar Hial said in a press meet.
The seizure list comprised 51 expensive mobile handsets, a portable television set, 12 home theatres, 22 speakers, 14 DVD players, 2 LED sets, 121 mobile displays and several other electronic items, the IIC said.
Though the youths have no criminal records, they entered the profession six months back.
They used to store stolen items at Sangudumaha village, in the house of main accused Hiru Pradhan, Hial said, adding, the accused were using the items for themselves after failing to get customers.
The gang, to execute its plans, used to break the doors and rip through the floors of the houses and often steal the sound systems of the four wheelers, the IIC said.
As many as six cases were registered at the police station. Following this, a police team led by IIC Hial conducted raids on several locations. The officials busted the gang after interrogating suspected criminals of the area, police said.
