Nuapada: A 13-year-old boy sustained critical injuries after the effigy of Ravan fell on him while it was being carried in a tractor at Kandetara village under Komna police limits in Nuapada district Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Jogeswar Stanami.
According to locals, Jogeswar was present on the spot with other villagers while the statue of Ravan was being carried for ‘Ravan Podi’ that is celebrated on Vijayadashami.
The injured minor was immediately rushed to Nuapada district headquarter hospital (DHH) for treatment.
