Bhubaneswar: A man working as a delivery agent was allegedly kidnapped from Lingipur locality under Dhauli police limits in Bhubaneswar Saturday night.
According to a police official, the victim was identified as Patitapaban Prusty. He works as a deliveryman and is a resident of Vijaya Vihar in Nuagaon area.
Patitapaban’s wife lodged an FIR with Dhauli police after he remained unreachable for quite a long time.
“I received a voice message from my husband at around 10.00pm. He informed me that he was being kidnapped by four drunkards in an auto-rickshaw. Later, his mobile phone got switched off and we were unable to contact him,” his wife said.

Acting on her FIR, Dhauli police initiated an operation to trace him.
During the initial probe, the cops recovered Patitapaban’s shoes, backpack, wallet, T-shirt and a knife from a place lying on the road.
The man had no past enmity with anyone, his wife informed.
Meanwhile, the cops have intensified their operation to rescue Patitapaban, a police official said.
