Bhubaneswar: A journalist, who works in an Odia daily newspaper, sustained grievous injuries in an attack by two unidentified miscreants Friday morning near Delta Square here, while he was on morning walk.
The injured journalist has been identified as Satya Sundar Bhanja. He was rescued in a critical state by some locals and admitted to Capital Hospital.
According to sources, the unidentified bike-born miscreants attempted to snatch the mobile phone of the scribe. It was after he resisted the loot bid, the looters hit him with an iron rod on his head. Later, they snatched the scribe’s mobile phone and soon fled from the crime spot.

“My brother was immediately admitted to Capital Hospital. Otherwise, his health condition would have deteriorated further. Thanks to doctors in the government-run health facility for providing timely treatment. He is bit stable and able to talk now,” Bhanja’s younger brother said.
