Bolangir: Amid the electioneering, veteran Congress leader and party nominee for Bolangir Assembly seat Narasingha Mishra promised the people that efforts will be make to hold an Assembly session at a place in Western Odisha, if his party is voted to power.
Addressing a press meet here Tuesday, Mishra said sessions of the Maharashtra Assembly are being held at two places.
He added that this promise is part of the manifesto of the Congress party.
“The people of Western Odisha have always alleged that all parts of the state have not seen equitable development and Western Odisha is a victim in this context. There is need for addressing regional imbalances and parallel development of all the areas,” he said.
He said that he will pull out all the stops to ensure that a session of the Assembly is held in Western Odisha.
He further alleged that as the days of elections are coming closer, the ruling party has been adopting violent approaches. The ruling dispensation has engaged some people in Deogan block where they threatened Congress workers, fearing loss in the elections.
The ruling party workers have been trying to create an atmosphere of unrest, he claimed.
