According to police sources, Abhishek was a third-year commerce student. He was missing since March 22. The youth had been staying in the hotel room for the last couple of days.

Abhishek had gone to OMP Chhak in Cuttack at around 5.00pm March 22. The youth had to hand over money to the driver of a truck owned by the family. As he did not return home for a long time, the family had lodged an FIR alleging that he has been murdered.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection and launched a probe. The actual cause of death can be ascertained only after the post-mortem report comes in. As the prima facie evidence suggests, the youth died owing to poisoning, the official stated.
