Missing man’s body fished out of reservoir

Koraput: The body of Suku Pradhani, a 35-year-old man who was missing since Thursday in a boat capsize incident at Jabagad river ghat under Bilaput panchayat and Nandapur block in Koraput district, was fished out by a team of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), Saturday, informed Nandapur Tahasildar, Anadi Charan Sahu.

According to reports, the fire brigade team from Nandapur could not trace the body of the missing person even after two days of search. Following this, as per the order of the district Collector V Kreethi Vasan, an ODRAF team from Koraput was given the task of the operation.

The ODRAF team consisting of 10 members of 3rd battalion from Koraput, led by Habildar Mojesh Khara, reached the spot Saturday morning and fished out the body of the missing youth Suku from the reservoir, informed the District Emergency department.

A pall of gloom descended on Jabagad village and nearby areas after the news spread. The block administration has provided assistance of Rs2,000 under Harischandra Sahayata Yogna to the deceased’s family and the district administration has recommended providing another Rs4 lakh from the State Disaster Management Fund, informed an official from the District Emergency section, Koraput.
