Bhubaneswar: Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) along with the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), and Tata Community Initiative Trust (TCIT) have embarked on an ambitious journey to transform the captains and bus-guides of Mo Buses into iconic mobility ambassadors for Bhubaneswar.
Under the program, 1600 captains (drivers) and bus-guides (conductors) will undergo an intensive technology-enabled training programme designed and delivered by the Tata Community Initiative Trust (TCIT).
The program aims at transforming Mo Bus captains and bus-guides into ambassadors of Bhubaneswar to create an enjoyable experience for local passengers and tourists alike.
The state government intends to set new benchmarks in public transport service where the captain and guides will also double up as city guides and offer customers a delightful riding experience.
The inauguration of the pilot batch training — consisting of 50 captains and bus-guides from Mo-Buses — was held here today. The event was attended by Odisha Skill Development Authority Chairman Subroto Bagchi, Sanjay Kumar Singh, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education(SD&TE) department, Krishan Kumar, IAS, MD, CRUT, Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, IAS, CEO, OSDA, Anita Rajan, Chief Operating Officer, Tata STRIVE (for Tata Community Initiatives Trust), and other dignitaries from various departments of State Government.
Odisha Skill Development Authority Chairman Subroto Bagchi said the programme will set new benchmarks and will be emulated by other states in the future. This is also in line with the vision of OSDA to make “Skilled in Odisha” a global brand.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, Commissioner-cum-secretary emphasised on the importance of such initiatives for the staff of public transport systems.
